Where The Top Songs Came From
Stereogum, the indie music tastemaker, brought us Drug Church’s powerhouse track “Demolition Man” at #1. The Albany post-hardcore outfit continues to push boundaries with their signature blend of aggressive riffs and thought-provoking lyrics about modern life’s complexities.
Qobuz delivered smooth R&B vibes with Blxst’s “Want You To Know.” The Los Angeles-based artist, known for his seamless blend of rap and R&B, creates an intimate atmosphere with his silky vocals and masterful production.
Youtube struck gold with RSCL’s “Don’t Fall for Me,” landing at #3. Franklin van Beek, better known as RSCL (pronounced Rascal), is making a name for himself in the house scene, and this track will show you why.
“Life” by Jamie XX at #4 was submitted by a user. The acclaimed producer and member of The XX returns with another masterpiece of electronic music, showcasing his ability to craft emotionally resonant dance tracks.
Triple j, Australia’s premier alternative radio station, introduced us to Telenova’s “Discotèque inside of my head.” The Melbourne trio continues to impress with their cinematic blend of dream pop and noir-influenced soundscapes.
Ray Moon’s “Closer” was brought by Qobuz and it secured the #6 spot in our Top 10 Songs of August 2024, delivering a fresh perspective on contemporary R&B with atmospheric production and captivating vocals.
Beatport reached #7 with Le Chev’s “Cherry“, a captivating blend of synth-driven, piano-led electro goodness, enhanced by shimmering accents and progressive harmonies, resulting in a modern house record.
At #8 we had Apple Music with Tyler Braden’s “More Than A Prayer”. The country artist delivers a heartfelt song that showcases his authentic songwriting and powerful vocals.
Tidal made it to the Top 10 Songs of August 2024 with El Clooy’s “Me Provoca” and its latin vibes at #9. Known also as “El Negrito Del Momento,” this young artist has emerged as one of Medellín’s most promising emerging artists.
Closing out the chart, elrow made us discover VLTRA (IT) and his “How it feels,” a tech house banger that embodies the spirit of the legendary party brand’s musical ethos.
