Where The Top Songs Came From

Deezer made its mark by securing the top spot with a rock anthem from Tom Meighan, former lead vocalist of Kasabian. This new release titled “Headcase” showcases Meighan’s signature style, blending rock vibes with elements of Britpop and indie rock.

Spotify brought us Ray Bull’s latest single ‘Little Acts of Violence‘ at #2, a song that perfectly captures the essence of contemporary indie with its captivating harmonies and instrumentals. While the track has been trending on alternative playlists, the duo’s Instagram video showing them beaten up sparked controversy.

Once again, last month we discovered another great song on Tidal —GRACEY’s “Rhetorical Questions“, a pop track that stands out for its profound lyrics and a climactic ending reminiscent of Lorde’s style. Listeners have connected with its introspective theme, making it a favorite among fans of smart, thought-provoking pop music.

Nicolaas Jaar’s comeback single “Rio de las tumbas” secured the #4 spot, earning critical acclaim from Pitchfork. This thought-provoking piece weaves a narrative around the Magdalena river, touching on diverse themes from Einstein to Palestine, exploring the cyclical nature of life, death, and the lasting impacts of colonialism.

Populous, DJ and producer hailing from Lecce, took the 6th spot with “Luna ácida“, a song we discovered on Bandcamp. This track blends influences from the Italian group Fuera, creating a vibrant Latin-inspired sound with electro-chill undertones.

Beatportthe ultimate hub for dance music fans, brings the fire with “Coolin” by HILLS. This tech house banger is designed to ignite dancefloors and has gained substantial support from DJs at clubs and festivals worldwide. Its pulsating bass and hypnotic rhythm surely helped it stand out.

Amazon, isn’t just one of the world’s largest online retailers and a leader in technology—they also have a great ear for music. IDER’s “Know How It Hurts” is another example, landing at #7.

Triple J, the famous Australian national radio station, brings us Hope D with “Nails“, a pop song that resonates with listeners by articulating the anxiety and frustration of unreciprocated feelings, capturing the emotional turmoil of desire and self-doubt.

At #9, we have “Tales from Beyond” by Jody Wisternoff. Discovered on Ajunadeep, this track showcases the producer’s mastery in crafting deeply resonant electronic music. Its dreamy, atmospheric sound has made it a must-play in chill-out and deep house sets worldwide.

Rounding up the Top 10, we have Tidal again with Runaway June’s “He Ain’t My Problem“, an upbeat and empowering country song with a sassy and relatable message about moving on from a relationship. Country fans have praised the trio’s harmonies and storytelling, making this the best rated song in the genre last month.
